Emrill offers employment opportunities to the underprivileged Emrill, the leading Facilities Management company in the UAE successfully completed
their first recruitment drive at the Foundation of Goodness (FOG), a Sri Lanka
based charity where 12 certified divers were offered the position of Lifeguards
to serve the residential communities managed by Emrill.
"The lifeguards are just the beginning of a host of other positions that
Emrill hope to recruit for, including concierge, housekeeping, security guards
and even technical staff," said Ben Churchill, Managing Director, Emrill.
The Foundation of Goodness was initially set up to offer local village children
and youth free education. However, after the devastation in Sri Lanka caused
by the 2004 Tsunami, FOG participated heavily in the rebuilding process. FOG
locally constructed over 1,000 homes and a model village which houses schools,
workshops, medical centres, and several sporting facilities including a world-class
swimming and diving centre funded by singer Bryan Adams, to empower underprivileged
villagers.
Emrill is constantly looking to expand its team with a workforce of over 4000
skilled staff supporting their vast portfolio of clients from all business and
commerce sectors. This unique CSR initiative with FOG enables Emrill to offer
employment opportunities to the underprivileged that are trained and recommended
by the charity. .
"We are pleased to be able to offer employment opportunities to students
of the Foundation of Goodness, Diving Centre. This benefits them in many ways
especially since they don't have to pay agencies for placement, visas and travel.
Emrill undertakes all these costs. This partnership with the Foundation of Goodness
is a first of its kind initiative allowing us to aid a community that has suffered
great devastation." Mr. Churchill added.
Emrill is committed to leading the facilities management industry with its
CSR practices which include its commitment to employee welfare. Emrill's dedicated
Head of Employee Welfare, Nev Patterson looks after the interests of employees
overseeing everything from their daily needs to developing recreation programs
and initiatives.
"At Emrill we maintain high employee satisfaction levels by providing
development opportunities and recreational programs to maintain a good work
life balance for employees" said Mr. Patterson.
Some of FOG's empowerment and training sectors include English, Business Skills,
Customer Service, Computer Skills, Women's Enterprise, Sports Development, Environment
Management and the Village Heartbeat Project to name but a few.
